-
- \@171 Purpose \@
-
- LookBook's note support provides the ability to add
- explanatory comments to your documents text. For example, a
- computer program manual can be noted with comments that explain
- how a particular function applies to a unique sitiuation.
- Another example would be a LookBook travel directory that you
- might "note" with current prices for lodging, car rentals, etc.
-
-
- \@171 Note Editor \@
-
- You may record document notes with LookBook's utility
- editor, LB_ED, or your favorite word processor/editor. If you
- wish to use your editor, you must record the command and path
- information as part of LookBook's configuration data. When you
- choose note recording, LookBook appends the appropriate note
- file name to your editor's command path. When you do not
- designate an editor command, LookBook defaults to LB_ED.
-
-
- \@171 Note and Bookmark Directory \@
-
- LookBook expects notes and bookmarks to reside with the
- document in the document's directory. When this is not
- practical you may specify a different directory via the
- configuration function.
-
-
-
- \@171 Linking Notes to Pages \@
-
- You link notes with pages by enclosing the exact page number
- in braces "{}" (12-1, 135, In-5, etc.) and placing it near the text
- you wish to link. When the note feature is selected, LookBook
- places the current document page's number in the "page link"
- variable for automatic search via "F5=PageLink".
-
-
- Note Linking Example:
- ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- To experiment with note attachment, return to the document
- and go to page 4 (make sure page 4 displays as active on line 2).
- Select "F6=Note" and "R" for review to return to the Notes View.
- Upon returning press the "F5=PageLink" and tap ENTER. If the
- link is found, the current line marker will be placed on the
- "bracketed 4" below. If the link is not found, try a reverse
- search by using the up arrow key instead of the ENTER key to
- launch the search.
-
- {4} This page number would normally appear at the
- beginning of the note text.
-
-
-
-
- \@171 Using Video Commands \@
-
- You may use the video commands to embellish your notes.
- The following summary illustrates their use.
-
- \\b = double intensity \bdouble intensity example\b
-
- \\i = reverse video \i reverse video example \i
-
- \\u = underline on mono
- blue on color \u underline example \u
-
- \\f = blinking text. \fblinking example\f
-
- \\@E01 = color \@E01 yellow on black \@
- \\@fbn
- f=foreground
- b=background
- n=when text colors don't match
- if 0 ignore
- if 1 use highlight.
-
- \\t = tab to next tab stop
- every 8 spaces
- 1,9,17.... tab\texample
-
- If you plan to use these in your text you must precede all
- matching text that appears naturally in the text with a slash.
- To reveal how the commands work toggle command recognition by
- \fpressing "CTRL-E" right now.\f Press Ctrl-E again before
- returning to the document.
-
-
- \@171 Continuation of Note Linking Example \@
-
- {4} Searching for notes works just like the phrase and word
- search. You may have to search backward for a note unless
- your search begins at the top of the file. Try this by
- pressing "F5" and the "Up Arrow" key.
-
-
-
- \i End of Note Example \i
-
- Return to the document and go to the table of contents (F3)
- and select the "Color and Enhanced Text" topic.
